Jeet Kune Do – Attack by Combination – ABC

Mastering the Flow: Attack by Combination (ABC) in Jeet Kune Do
Among the five foundational ways of attack in Jeet Kune Do, the Attack by Combination (ABC) stands as a dynamic and highly effective method for overwhelming an opponent. Our commitment to practical application means all our students learn not just the theory, but how to seamlessly apply these principles in real-time scenarios.

Consider a recent example from our training, which captured a live, unscripted exchange between two of our dedicated students, Mr. Sunny and Mr. Jo. In this real-time encounter, Mr. Sunny initially attempted to employ the Attack by Drawing (ABD), aiming to bait Mr. Jo into a premature response. However, Mr. Jo’s disciplined patience and acute awareness thwarted the draw. He waited for the precise, opportune moment – demonstrating impeccable timing – before launching his devastating combination.

Mr. Jo initiated his Attack by Combination with a perfectly timed low kick, immediately followed by two rapid finger jabs to the upper target, ensuring confirmation and control. This fluid, multi-faceted assault showcases the power of ABC when executed with precision and timing.

Well done, Mr. Jo, on a truly insightful application of JKD principles!
